Join us on Friday evening, May 20, 2016 at 7:00PM in the high school auditorium for our annual spring choral concert & senior recognition.  We have 33 singers who are graduating this year, and who will be recognized during the concert, which features the Women's Choir, Symphonic Choir, and North Hills Singers.

Our assistant director and choreographer, Ms. Lauren Sarazen, will be offering a week-long summer theater camp at Vincentian Academy in August.  Click the file below to download the flyer for more information.

The North Hills High School Drama Club will present its annual Gala student showcase and fundraiser event on May 15 at 7pm in the High School Auditorium.  Admission is $5 for adults and $2 for students, with proceeds benefitting the Drama Club’s fall play and spring musical productions.  This year’s Drama Club members performed the fall play “Radium Girls” and spring musical “Cinderella.”
 
The Gala program is almost entirely student-run, from selection of materials to auditions, rehearsals to stage management.  Drama Club members will sing songs from Broadway musicals, present monologues or scenes from plays, perform dances from shows, and one group is presenting a one-act play written by NHHS student Michelle Do, and which was featured earlier this year at the Pittsburgh City Theatre.

North Hills High School earned four nominations in the 26th annual Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theater for its recent production of “Cinderella.” The show received nominations for the following:

• Best Lighting Design
• Best All-Student Orchestra
• Best Crew/Technical Execution
• Best Execution of Direction

The Pittsburgh CLO’s 26th annual Gene Kelly Awards will be held May 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Benedum Center.“North Hills is fortunate to have a robust fine arts program,” said Superintendent Dr. Patrick J. Mannarino. “Each year our director, Glen Richey, and his staff continue to showcase the wonderful talents of our students. We are honored and delighted that they have been recognized for their hard work on this year’s production of ‘Cinderella.’ ” 

A total of 28 Allegheny County high schools competed in this year’s Gene Kelly Awards. Nominees were judged by a panel of judges comprised of performing arts educators, arts administrators, entertainment professionals and performers.
The Gene Kelly Awards were launched in 1991 as a means to recognize and encourage student achievement and to focus the attention of the community and school districts on the importance of musical theater and arts education.
