 "Memories that never die..."
In an effort to keep the legacy of the North Hills Choirs' tradition of excellence alive, a digital archive history project has begun. Unfortunately, over the years since the North Hills School District was formed and staff has changed, most of the historical documents that may have been at one time held in an archive have disappeared. This project intends to fill in as many gaps as possible so that the wonderful stories and details of the "glory days" are not gone forever. Congratulations to the Women's Choir on their successful performance today during the Women's Choral Festival at the First Presbyterian Church of Edgewood. They shared the afternoon with the Duquesne University Pappert Women's Chorale, Belle Voci community women's choir, Carica Milica Serbian women's choir, and University of Pittsburgh Women's Choral Ensemble.              This message is in regards to the choir’s annual Madrigal Dinner which is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, December 5. Members of the choir dress in medieval costumes and perform skits/songs over the course of a meal.
As we discussed at our meeting in September, this is one of our major fundraisers and a lot of help is needed to make this a success. There are various subcommittees involved including meal prep, salads, dinner rolls, drinks, desserts, decorations, ticket sales, raffle baskets, 50/50, supervising student servers and supplies. Many of you signed up already to volunteer….thanks!! We will also be looking for donations of food items or money to help with the meal. There will be a planning meeting next Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Chorus Room where we can discuss all of the above in more detail. Our Fall/Winter NH Choir Apparel Store is open online. Get some personalized North Hills Choir gear to keep you warm this winter! Track and fleece jackets, hoodies, plaid pajama pants, a gear bag, and blanket can all be ordered between now and November 22. A small portion of the sales will come back to the choir and help us with our programs. Once the online shopping window is closed, GPSA will process the orders and get them ready. All orders will be delivered to the school before winter break. Some of these items would make great gifts for the holiday! Our plan is to have another online ordering window in late winter/early spring with polos, shorts, and other spring items that could be worn during the Busch Gardens trip in late April.  The next fundraising event we have scheduled is the holiday greenery (two sizes for wreaths, pine roping and door swag). Order forms will be distributed in class on Wednesday, November 5 or can be downloaded below. Sale runs through November 17 with pickup scheduled for Wednesday, December 2 from 4:30-6:00PM (order form incorrectly lists Tuesday) in the HS Main Entrance patio (the high school "front porch"). Please note that all payment must be received in cash only.
