Friday, June 5 – Commencement Car pool if you can. Parking is always a nightmare for graduation with how many people participate and attend. There will be a shuttle from the park & ride if you want to park further away (and probably have an easier time getting out at the end!) I’ll be at the field by 5:30 if you arrive early. By 5:45 Report to the Field for a sound check at Martorelli Stadium 7:00PM Ceremony Begins By 9:00 Done and on your way home Wearing: black and red uniforms girls: red blouse, black skirt, solid black tights & character shoes guys: black shirt, red tie, black dress slacks, black socks & dress shoes We sit: near the 30 yard line, between the band and platform (we’re going to try it from the sidelines this year so we don’t have to walk across the field in front of everyone and make them wait on us) *In the event of rain, we need to be available for a possible 10:00AM, 2:00PM, or 6:00PM Saturday reschedule…or if rain Saturday, possibly 2:00PM Sunday. SUNDAY, August 16 – Choir Camp Choir Camp, 1:00-5:00PM in choir room B119 Due to the earlier start for teachers and band camp running up til Saturday, August 15, our only chance to rehearse is on a Sunday. I’ve been given permission to come into the building so we can prepare. We’ll have food at some point (bring snacks if you’d like). We’ll work on new music for the fall and our performance at open house, as well as go over the beginning schedule for performances. At some point, we’ll head to the middle school auditorium to set up and run through SSB and Alma Mater on the risers in the pit. Monday, August 17 – Opening Day for Staff 8:00AM Meet in the middle school chorus room 8:45AM Opening Day program begins – we’re 3rd on the agenda, after Marching Band and the Elementary students leading the pledge By 9:15 Done (I’ll have donuts and juice for you as well for after you sing!) Dress: black & red uniforms (marching band/flagline folks wear your band stuff and just join us as soon as you’re done performing) Congratulations to the newest members of the North Hills Singers. This is the largest group to date because it was so difficult to choose from the talent! First rehearsal is 2:15-3:30 Wednesday, June 3 in the Choir Room. Our first performance is at Graduation on Friday! Here are the recordings of our stairwell performances of "Camptown Races" and "All That Hath Life and Breath" from the end of today's rehearsal. Take a listen to them with critical ears. See what you think your section, or the group as a whole, could do to make each song better as we continue to refine our performance for adjudication on May 9th. As long as you remember your music in rehearsal, feel free to take your folders home and look at the sheet music while listening to the recordings. We'll be a better group if each person spends just a little bit of time outside rehearsal reflecting and practicing before our next time together!
Use this recording to help you learn your parts/the words for memorization of "Camptown Races" since we are performing it for competition in Hershey.
Here are the recordings promised of our pieces for tomorrow's concert.
