About “Tuck Everlasting”
Eleven-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: return to her life, or continue with the Tucks on their infinite journey. Based on best-selling children’s classic by Natalie Babbitt and adapted for the stage by Claudia Shear and Tim Federle, “Tuck Everlasting” features a soaring score from Chris Miller and Nathan Tysen. The musical began on Broadway in March 2016 and became available for licensing in summer 2018. North Hills is one of the first schools in Pennsylvania to perform the show.
Choir Cabaret Night returns to the cafeteria this Friday, March 1 at 7:00PM! The high school cafeteria is transformed into a casual coffee shop style environment with an “open mic night” feel to it. $5 admission gets you a seat and refreshments provided by the Choral Parents Association. Student performances range from solos to duets and small groups, pop songs, original songs, with keyboard, guitar, and tracks – and all selected by the performers themselves.
NEW SECURITY PROTOCOLS: With the alarm system that was installed this year at the high school, we will not be allowed to use the cafeteria doors to enter or exit the event. All volunteers as well as audience members must enter through the main entrance and walk down the A Hallway to the Cafeteria. All of the cafeteria doors are alarmed and are only to be used as emergency exits.
WE NEED COOKIE DONATIONS! In order to have the refreshments to provide for our audience, we’re asking that choir families each bring in cookies for the event. They can be brought to the robe room in the morning on Friday, or dropped off in the cafeteria after school while we are setting up.
Our spring online apparel store is now open and accepting orders until 3/3/19. Delivery will be in time for the NYC tour in April. New items include screen printed hoodies and shirts as well as some Under Armour options.
In a few weeks, we will go live with online ticketing for our high school spring musical, "Tuck Everlasting." As this is a new process for all, we've put together a list of information to explain how it all works. Click the "read more" link below to see details about the cast/crew/orchestra pre-sale window as well as how the live public sales will be run.
You don't want to miss Cabaret Night on Friday, March 1st at 7 p.m.! With everyone's help, we can make the evening be a great success for our students, family and friends who perform and/or attend!
ALL choir families are asked to donate 2 dozen cookies. Cookies can be brought in to school on the day of the event and left in the choir room or delivered to the cafeteria by 4 p.m.
We have created an online sign-up for volunteer, donation, and other needs for the evening. Please review and help where you can. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084DACAE22A4FE3-cabaret
If you have questions, please contact the event chairperson Angela Arlia at email@example.com.
