North Hills Choral Parents Association
The organizational meeting of the North Hills Choral Parent Association (NHCPA) took place on Tuesday, September 27, 2011. By-Laws were approved, and the North Hills School Board approved the CPA as an official booster organization at their November 21, 2011 legislative meeting. In December 2014, The NHCPA received its EIN tax number and opened a checking account. Through membership into Parent Booster USA, the Choral Parents Association of NHSD became incorporated and receives tax-exempt 501(c)3 non-profit status in March 2016.
NHCPA leadership and members oversee the annual Madrigal Dinner and Cabaret Night events that serve as the two major fundraisers for the choral program. Additional fundraising efforts are organized throughout the school year that benefit the individual student as well as the overall choral program.
Membership in the NHCPA is open to any parent or family of a student in the middle or high school choral programs at North Hills. Parent volunteers are always needed and are critical in making the fundraising events successful. Meetings are held once a month either in person or via e-mail, or on an as-needed basis closer to major events. Fundraising information is also shared via email and this website.
If you are interested in participating in the Choral Parents Association this year, you can either join our email list by sending a message to [email protected].

Annual NHCPA Events
The high school choirs, with the support of the Choral Parents Association, present 2 special events that also serve as fundraisers for the organization:
Madrigal Dinner
Held on a Saturday in December, this event transforms the social hall of a local church into a medieval castle banquet hall. Singers dress in period costume, present a skit in between the courses of the meals served, and sing songs in the 15th and 16th century Madrigal style. Themed baskets are also raffled off during the evening. The Madrigal Dinner raises nearly $1500 for the choirs each year, which benefits the choral program as a whole, helping to provide uniforms, costumes, music supplies, and, when possible, to defray the cost of the annual performance tour.
Cabaret Night
This event takes place in the "A Side" of the Cafeteria at the High School. The space is decorated and rearranged to feel like a coffee shop/jazz night club with an "open mic night" theme. Your $5 admission gives you access to hot/cold beverages and a wide selection of homemade treats while listening to various solos, duets, and small groups performing songs of their choosing on "stage."
