Who is Eligible to Participate?
The Winter Musical is open to all students in grades 7-9. Positions are available in both the cast and on the Tech Crew. More details about Tech Crew will be posted around Thanksgiving. Audition Practice Session: Thursday, October 23, 2014 – 3:00-4:00PM in the Middle School Chorus Room & Auditorium. We will go over the audition song, dance combination, and scenes to read. Audition Days: First Round: You may audition in groups of 2 or 3. When you are called into the chorus room, each person will sing individually, then read the scene together. At the end of each hour, we will call everyone who has auditioned back into the chorus room and have you dance together. Once your group has done all 3 parts, you may leave. Sign-up sheets will be posted on the Chorus Room door. Choose the day and time that works best for you. (Marching band members should avoid going late on Tuesday!) Plan to arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled audition if you go home and come back. You are only required to stay for the hour that you sign up, and may leave after you have completed all three parts: sung, read, and danced. Monday, October 27 3:00-4:00, 4:00-5:00, 5:00-6:00 Tuesday, October 28 3:00-4:00, 4:00-5:00, 5:00-6:00 Wednesday, October 29 3:00-4:00, 4:00-5:00 Callback Auditions: a list will be posted outside the Middle School Chorus Room and High School Choir Room on Thursday, October 30 listing who is to come to callbacks. These are times for the directors to hear and see people a second or third time so that we pick the best cast we can. If you are not on the callback list, it DOES NOT mean you are not in the show. If you are on the callback list, you must attend both of the following: Thursday, October 30 - 3:00-4:00, Rehearsal to learn new songs/scenes/dance Friday, October 31 - 3:00-5:00, Callback Auditions Cast List Posted: ONLINE Once callback auditions are completed, the directors will sit down to discuss and determine the cast list. We typically take between 60-70 in the cast each year. Once the list has been finalized, we will post it on the choir/drama website at www.northhillschoralmusic.org. This will likely happen either late Friday evening or some time on Saturday depending on how long it takes us to decide on the cast list. We didn’t want to make everyone have to wait until after a 4-day weekend to find out who made it into the show, so be sure to check the site over the weekend. A list will also be printed out and posted on both Mrs. Triscila’s and Mr. Cloonan’s classroom doors when you come back to school on November 5th. First Full Cast Rehearsal: If your name is on the list, you are expected to be at the first rehearsal on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 3:00-5:00PM in the Middle School Chorus Room. At this rehearsal, you’ll receive a complete schedule, script, and cast contract which must be signed and returned in order to be in the show. Comments are closed.
