Online Ticket Information

Dear TUCK EVERLASTING Cast/Crew/Orchestra Families,
 
Please read the attached information carefully, as it details the process of our new online ticketing and box office system through ShowClix.  We’ve been talking about making this move for the better part of 5 years now and have for some reason or another not followed through.  With a new leadership team of directors and changes to the program, this seemed to be the logical time to make the switch.  Note that the majority of the schools around us do the exact same thing with comparable pricing, though we opted to include all fees into the price of the ticket rather than passing them on to you at checkout.  So, there is an increase in prices to account for this, though it’s been 11 years since the last increase so we see this price point staying where it is for quite some time!  We’ve also accounted for giving the cast/crew/pit orchestra time to reserve their seats ahead of time just as we used to with the paper pre-sale.  The difference is instead of turning in a form with a check and waiting for your orders to be filled and tickets sent home, you’ll log on, choose your seats, pay for them right then, and decide how you want them to be delivered.  And we’ve figured out a way to offer a (modest) discount during the pre-sale period as well that was never offered in the past.
 
Hopefully the attached document will answer any questions you may have.  We’ve been talking through this process for several months, trying to think of any possible situation that may arise, and think we’ve streamlined everything to make it as easy on all as possible.

“TUCK EVERLASTING” ONLINE TICKET INFORMATION
 
CAST, CREW, & PIT PRE-SALE WINDOW
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 25 TO FRIDAY, MARCH 1 AT 12:00 NOON
TICKET PRICES: $12 ADULTS, $7 STUDENTS/SENIOR CITIZENS
 

1. An e-mail will be sent out from the Drama Parents account on February 24th with the link to access the pre-sale site (this link will only be good until the pre-sale ends, at which time the live public link will be published).
2. Sales are run through ShowClix, and they manage processing the credit card payments.
3. A discount code will be sent in the e-mail that will give $10 off of your order upon checkout.
4. Prices have been increased to cover the per-ticket charge for using the online system.  All fees for using ShowClix have been included in the ticket price so there are no additional charges to the customer upon check-out. (to those wondering: the last time ticket prices were increased was 2007 from $6/$3 to the $10/$5 they’ve been for the last 11 years)
5. Once you have clicked on the link, choose the evening you would like to attend and click “get tickets”, and then on the next screen click “select seats” to be able to choose your own seats for each night you plan to attend.  Note that several seats will already be listed as “unavailable.”  These are the rows that don’t physically exist due to the pit orchestra, as well as Gene Kelly Award judges and NHSD board/admin “invited guest” seats.  When you click on each seat, you will have the option to choose regular or student/senior citizen.
6. You will have a 20-minute window to complete your purchase before the session times out.
7. Delivery of the tickets can be made in one of 3 ways: e-mailed to you, sent to your phone, or held at the box office will-call where we will have them printed for you.

 
ON SALE TO THE PUBLIC: MARCH 1 AT NOON
At Noon on Friday, March 1, ticket sales go live to the public using a new link that will be published everywhere.  After this point, the pre-sale discount code will no longer be valid.
 
PURCHASING ON THE NIGHT OF EACH SHOW

1. Online ticket sales end 3 hours before the start of each performance (4:30PM).
2. If there are those who want to purchase tickets at the door, we will have the box office set up as usual starting at 6:30PM to take the orders and print out tickets as people arrive.  Those people may pay with cash or card as they choose, and can have the tickets physically printed, e-mailed, or sent to their phones before moving on to the auditorium.

 
Our ushers will have scanners to “check in” each person at the door to the auditorium and will show patrons to their seats and give them a program.  Scanners should be able to scan phones as well as paper tickets just like at the Benedum, movie theater, or airport.
 
AREA SCHOOL MUSICAL ONLINE PRICE COMPARISONS
North Allegheny: uses ShowClix, $14 flat rate per ticket plus $2 processing fee per ticket
Shaler: uses ShowClix, $13 per ticket (lists $10 discount but no instructions on how to get it), no fees
Pine-Richland: uses ShowClix, pre-sale window with code, $15 per ticket, couldn’t see if fee is included
Fox Chapel: uses ShowClix, $13 per ticket plus $2 convenience fee per ticket
Upper St. Clair: uses Eventbrite, tickets $12/$5 plus $2.37/$1.92 per ticket fee
Hampton: uses eTix, tickets $10/$8, and offers a $25 VIP for front row seats, couldn’t see fees
