 Get in the holiday spirit and help neighbors in need as North Hills Cares presents “A Community of Music” student music showcase on Friday, December 7, from 6:30 pm–8:30 pm at The Block Northway, south corridor (near DSW and Wahlburgers). Musical performances include the North Hills High School Chamber Strings and Arrow Men’s Ensemble, the Shaler Area Elementary Singers, the Avonworth High School Chamber Singers, and North Allegheny singer/songwriter Melina Bowser. In addition to enjoying wonderful holiday performances by our local student musicians, there will be prizes, free crafts, face painting and treats for the kids, and even free photos with Santa! Take your own photo or we’ll take one for you! Admission is free, but please bring a food donation to benefit the participating school districts’ backpack programs. These programs send food home with students who rely on school meals and may not have enough to eat over weekends and school breaks. Help fill a holiday sleigh with individually packaged, shelf-stable food items, like single-serve fruit, cereal, soup or pasta, sandwich crackers and granola bars. |
